Grid Kid Day and Black and Gold Game

On Saturday October 27 will be the annual Grid Kid Day in Othello.  The schedule will be as follows:
Black 5/6 @ 9 a.m.
Black 3/4 @ 12 p.m.
Gold 3/4 @ 5 p.m.
Gold 5/6 @ 6 p.m.

The Black and Gold Games have been rescheduled for Tuesday, October 30.  The hot dog roast will begin at 5 and will go until 7:30.  The 3rd and 4th grade teams will play at 6 and will be immediately  followed by the 5th and 6th grade teams.  Please dress warmly as the forecast calls for cloudy and cold.

Black and Gold Postponed

The weather is going to be less than desirable for the scheduled time for the Black and Gold game, and the Hot Dog Roast, so the consensus among the coaches was to wait for a better day.  We will let the players know as soon as a reschedule date has been determined.  Please pass this on to others.

Black and Gold Game

The annual Black and Gold game will be held Tuesday, October 16th starting with the 3rd and 4th grade teams at 6 p.m. with the 5th and 6th grade teams to follow.  We apologize for such short notice, but due to schedule conflicts that was one of the few nights the field was available for us to use.

The Hot Dog Roast will be in lieu of the end-of-season banquet and will take place before the games starting at 4:30 and going until 6:30.  Players can eat for free and families will be just $5.  Hope to see you there!

Gold Teams Make-Up Game

On WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 3 at 5 p.m. at Othello Tagarres Field both Gold teams will make-up the missed Othello game. The make-up games for the Black teams are still to be announced.

September 22 Games Cancelled

Due to air quality concerns the Othello Grid Kids administrators have cancelled ALL games for Saturday September 22.  Hopefully we will be able to make these games up later.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Game Reminder

Just a reminder that both the Gold teams will play Tuesday September 18th at 5 in Othello. There was a typo on the schedule that originally stated the 19th. I apologize if this caused any confusion.

Team Pictures

On Thursday September 13th, we will have Dorsing Design coming to the school to take team and individual pictures. Picture forms will be sent home on Monday 10th or Tuesday 11th.  We will be issuing game jerseys that day as well.

OOPS!!

Already I'm messing up.  I had the 5 and 6 grade start times switched with the 3 and 4 grade times. I have updated the schedule but if you already have it on your calendars the 5 and 6 graders play after the 3 and 4. And we just got an updated schedule this morning, Royal Gold will play Othello Mustangs on September 18 in Othello, both 3/4 and 5/6 will play at 5. This will take place instead of the October 20th game. Sorry, Jen

Team Rosters are now posted, check them out under the team pages.  We've had a great turnout so far, but if there is anyone still wanting to play we will continue registering until Friday, September 7.

Football Registration

We are really excited to get this football season started!  Royal Grid Kid Football Registration will be held on September 4th at 3 p.m. on the east side of the elementary school, cost is $50 per player and $25 for each additional sibling.  Please bring your registration form and signed concussion form and money. Checks can be made out to Royal Boosters.  Registration Forms will be passed out at the elementary school and will be available in the main offices of both the middle school and elementary school.  They can also be printed off by clicking the link located on the right side of this blog.  Games will be played on Saturdays beginning September 15.  Any questions call Brandon Jenks at 750-6629 or brandon.jenks@gmail.com. It's That Time Again!

It's time to get the ball rolling (or throwing) again on the 2012 Grid Kid Football season.  On Tuesday, August 7 at 6 p.m. at the Royal Golf Course Club House we will be having a coaches and volunteers meeting.  We would appreciate all those that would like to be involved with our football teams to come.  We have a lot of the coaches ready to go, but we could still use Faculty members to be in charge of the field on game days and a referee coordinator.  If you have any questions, concerns, ideas, suggestions, or want to help, please contact Brandon at 750-6629 or at brandon.jenks@gmail.com.  Hope to see you there!
